We remember today for terrible things,
fire, hijacks, sorrow, loose, terrorism, destruction, and fear.

But we shouldn't remember this day for those things, instead we should remember today for the unity of the nation and the people who selflessly sacrificed their lives for the safety of others.

I saw a 9/11 remembrance picture for NY fire department and felt compelled to write a something saying to remember today for the unity of the nation and the sacrifice of people.

You did a very good job. I'm very passionate about this day...and I just had to thank you because...so many people make a joke of this day...and...it makes me very upset. So seeing this...it made me smile. So thank you

Thank you, though to be honest i more or less just thought it up when i decided i wanted to write something for it.(im really quite a spontaneous writer)

i agree, i live on an american air base over seas and i expected something huge for this day for the community(there was something atleast) and the school, needless to say i was disappointed in the response to the day.

Even though i am only 17 and have no memory of that day, i feel i am more passionate about it than others my age.

I agree with you. I was only in second grade that day...but I do remember coming home...and watching the plane crash over and over and over as they replayed it over and over...and I remember the TV going fuzzy because I started crying. Its a sad shame there's not more. It really is. But here in NY...they've built a huge memorial where Ground Zero once was...and I haven't seen it yet...but I'm going to. Because I saw a small one...and it was through the eyes of those who lost someone. And I'm telling you...it broke me. I hate when other's think it's a joke. I hate it so much I cry. I was arguing with someone earlier about it...and he kept saying, "Why are 3000 lives lost more important than the millions lost in Japan?" Its not more important...but just dont minimize it....

ive wanted to go to a 9/11 memorial, but simply couldn't get there.

It's not the number of lives lost that matters for both, it's the action regular people take and the significance of the dya that matters. It's to hard compare which one is really more important, because one was a natural disaster(or are you talking about 06 August 1945) and one was a terrorist attack, two completely different causes.

The video of this song symbolizes 9/11 and the song symbolizes a significant event of the 20th century. [link]

*shakes head* I dont know what it was. I just know he went off the wall with it and it made me mad. He says we bombed millions and no one cried for them. So why should we cry for 3000? WHy? WHy? Because it was an unnecessary killing. Thats why. NO ONE...deserved to die that day. I dont think either has a more importance status...because there was deaths in both. There was mourning. There was pain and hurt. There was chaos. It just doesnt matter with the numbers. What matters is that there was death. And that should be reason enough to mourn.
